Lyrics:
The night magnifies the feelings of joy and drunk excitement because the earth clocks one more year of orbiting around our warm sun, and you and I were no different, we enjoyed the night of our young lives, both haunted by the events to come playing in the back of our minds; in our minds.
A taxi acted as our chariot, it escorted us all through the night, we entered into party's we knew the people less and less. Distracted by each other's company, we found our way to the back seat of my parked car, motionless we sat both far too drunk to drive; to drive.
Surrounded by the echoing sounds of celebration, as the neighbours counted down the seconds leading in to the new year, and as they yelled the number 'one', tears came streaming down your face, because the nights marks the anniversary of a day that you would rather forget; forget.
And as I felt the warmth of each drop, my heart sunk deeper down into my chest, and at first I didn't know what to say, but then the words they just formed inside my head..
"Your father would be so proud of the women you've become, I know it's true because that's exactly how I feel about the way you've turned out... you've turned out alright."
